Boilerplate Master File

PURCHASING > Master Files > Boilerplates > Add/Modify/Delete

Boilerplates are standard clauses (text) that can be dropped into any free-form text area in SpendMap, including internal notes and description areas on Purchase Order and other documents. Some common examples of boilerplates include shipping/handling instructions, notification of upcoming events, terms and conditions, etc.

Instead of typing the text on each document, you can save time by copying boilerplates onto the documents. Once copied onto the document, the text can be modified as required.

Boilerplates Master File Screen

Field	Description
Boilerplate code	•Codes can be up to 10 characters in length and any combination of letters, numbers, or spaces. •Once the information is saved, you will not have access to this field. To modify an existing code, use the Rename Utility •This is a mandatory field.
Description	•Description or name of the boilerplate, used to reference the boilerplate on screens and reports. •This text will NOT be copied onto documents when the boilerplate is selected. •This is a mandatory field.
Free-form text	•The text to be copied onto documents when the boilerplate is selected. •Right-mouse-click to access spell check and cut and paste functions. •This is a mandatory field.
