PURCHASING > Utility > Reconcile > Replace empty locations in item history

This utility scans Item History transactions for items that are kept at multiple stocking locations and inserts location codes for any transactions that do not have a location specified.

Transactions may be missing locations if, for example, an item was originally set up to NOT be kept in multiple locations (in which case the Location Field on transactions will be blank) but was subsequently modified and is now kept in multiple locations.

For multi-location items, all transactions should have a location specified for stock-related calculations to be performed properly.

There are two options for populating blank Location Fields for transactions, 1) you can use the location specified in the Single Location Field in the [INVENTORY] folder of the Item Master File for each item, or 2) for items that don't have a location specified in the Single Location Field, you can specify a location code to use when you run this utility.

Noteworthy Questions & Options

For items without a Single Location specified in the Item Master, you can either specify a location or you can skip these items.

A report listing any adjustments made during the reconciliation will automatically be printed. You will be prompted to select a report destination.
