REQUISITIONS AND APPROVAL > Approval > Enable or disable proxy approver
This is used to temporarily redirect your approval authority to another user, for example, when on holiday or too busy with other things.
When you enable a proxy approver, that user will receive an automatic notification and will then see your requisitions (i.e. reqs that you normally approve) alongside their own requisitions when using the Requisition Approval Utility. Your requisitions will be clearly marked with “proxy” so that your proxy approver can easily see when they are approving on your behalf.
Also, the list of approvers in the Closed Requisition Log includes both User IDs for audit purposes.
If your approval is being redirected (i.e. proxy is active), when you log into SpendMap or revisit this utility, you will be given the option to terminate (disable) the proxy redirection. When you terminate/disable the proxy redirect, you will see a list of all approval activity that was carried-out on your behalf in case you want to follow up on certain orders. TIP: You can use the "Print this message" link if you need the proxy approval activity for reference purposes (once you click [OK], the screen will close and the list will not be saved in the system).
