PURCHASING> User Setup > User definable menus and pop-up prompts > Update user menus from master group menus
Use this feature to save time when creating or updating user-definable menus and other user settings when many users have the same access rights (i.e. a user “group”).
Rather than updating each user's menus and settings individually, you can create one or more "master" users with the required access rights and settings, and then use this utility to copy the master profile to other users in the group.
This utility can be used during initial user setup and/or if the group’s rights change in the future. You can run this utility as often as needed.
This utility can be used to mass-update any or all of the following settings for each user in the group...
•User MENU layouts and pop-up prompts
•User SETTINGS
•User PERMISSIONS
•User CATALOG restrictions
•E-MAIL NOTIFICATION settings
•MOBILE WEB APP settings
•PROMPT PREFERENCES (prompts defaulted with the "Don't Ask Me Again" feature)
•DASHBOARD configurations
Creating “Master” Users
Any user in the User Master File can be a “master” user whose access rights will be copied to other users in the group. You can have as many master users (i.e. groups) as required (e.g. requisitioners, buyers, managers, etc.).
Master users can be actual users of the system or simply added to the User Master File for the purposes of this utility (i.e. never log into the system).
When this utility is run, SpendMap will look for a User ID code (i.e. the “master user”) in the User Menu Group field in the [SETTINGS] folder of the User Master File. If the User Menu Group field has a User ID in it, the menus and settings for that (master) user will be copied accordingly.
1.Select to overwrite any or all of the following for each user in the applicable group(s):
User MENU layouts and pop-up prompts
User SETTINGS
User PERMISSIONS settings
User master file CATALOG restrictions
E-MAIL NOTIFICATION settings
MOBILE WEB APP menu options
PROMPT PREFERENCES (prompts defaulted with the "Don't Ask Me Again" feature)
DASHBOARD configurations
2.Select which Groups to update.
TIP: If you have many Groups, use the [ALL] button to select all groups, rather than selecting each one manually.
