SpendMap User Guide (v15)

Overview

SpendMap can create Adobe Acrobat PDF files when generating reports and other documents, as outlined below.

To view/open PDF files that are created by SpendMap, you will need a PDF viewer, such as Adobe Acrobat Reader (which is free). For details, go to www.adobe.com.

PDF Printer Driver

SpendMap ships with a printer driver that is used to create Adobe Acrobat PDF files, so there is no need to purchase or install any third party software.

SpendMap's PDF printer driver (called "Palmas PDF Printer") will be installed automatically when you run the system for the first time and will be updated automatically, if needed.  For the Desktop Application, the printer driver will be installed on each PC workstation. For the Web App, the printer driver need only be installed once on the application server.

You cannot print to this printer directly - It is only for use by SpendMap.

Sending POs and Other Documents

You can e-mail Purchase Orders, RFQs, Releases and other documents to your suppliers in PDF format.

Adobe Acrobat PDF is the most popular file format that retains the formatting of the original computer that the file was created on. That is, no matter who views your documents, regardless of the type of computer, the operating system, or the system settings, you can be sure that the documents will look to the recipients as they do to you.

For details on SpendMap’s e-mail functions, see E-mail Module and Sending Documents Electronically.

Generating Reports

SpendMap can create PDF files when you view or e-mail any of the system's reports.  For more details, see Report Destinations.
