This is used to sort item history transactions in order by date.
This can be used as often as needed if transactions do not appear in date sequence for many items. Alternatively, you can sort history for individual items by selecting the [SORT] button in View Item History.
The item’s history is normally sorted automatically if transactions are processed out of date sequence. However, depending on the number of history transactions there are for an item and the transaction being processed, in some cases the sorting is bypassed to minimize disruption for the user and the item history is then sorted during the next reindexing of the system. This utility, therefore, can be used if you wish to sort item history before the next maintenance window.
